Full-Time Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (Addiction Medicine) – Agawam, MA

Join Pyramid Healthcare as a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant supporting adult Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment at our Agawam, MA facility. In this role, you will provide client-centered medical care across residential and detox levels of care, working collaboratively with nursing, psychiatry, and primary care teams to help individuals achieve lasting recovery and improved health outcomes.

We are seeking providers who are certified in Family Medicine or Adult Medicine with addiction medicine experience.

Compensation

Salary: $155,000 and up annually (dependent on experience, certification, and qualifications)

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations (H&Ps) and ongoing medical evaluations; review laboratory results and monitor therapeutic levels
  • Manage acute and chronic medical concerns; develop safe and compliant discharge and transition plans
  • Provide medical support for adult residential and detox programs; coordinate care with psychiatry and primary care providers
  • Optimize post-discharge medication regimens; assist with prior authorizations and cost-effective treatment planning
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) while maintaining quality, safety, and regulatory standards
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to program development and quality improvement initiatives
  • Evaluate and manage Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), including buprenorphine, in accordance with credentialing requirements and state regulations, if applicable

Qualifications

Required

  • Active Massachusetts Nurse Practitioner (NP/APRN) license or Physician Assistant license
  • Certification in Family Medicine or Adult Medicine with addiction medicine experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of post-graduate experience as a Provider in Addiction Medicine or a related clinical setting with experience treating individuals with Substance Use Disorder (SUD), and/or in adult medicine providing chronic and acute care
  • Ability to work effectively in residential and/or withdrawal management settings

Preferred

  • Experience with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and withdrawal management protocols
  • Familiarity with medication prior authorizations and cost-containment strategies
  • Experience utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Participation in quality improvement or patient safety initiatives
