Position: Registered Nurse (RN)

Dept: Emergency Department

Shift: 7:00pm - 7:30am

The Clinical Nurse is a registered nurse (RN) who partners with and advocates for patients/families/significant others to provide physical, emotional and spiritual support which impacts patient outcomes in a safe environment. The RN functions in a versatile role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence and autonomy in the practice of Nursing. The RN utilizes the nursing process in conjunction with evidence-based principles to care for a diverse caseload of patients within the department scope of service. The RN serves as guide, healer, collaborator, teacher, leader and sentry. The RN collaborates with and guides care delivered by the inter-professional team. The RN is accountable for compliance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, Nursing Code of Ethics and applicable regulatory standards.

Education: Graduation from accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Valid Ohio RN license

Experience: 1 year of hospital based acute care experience is preferred.

Job Details Kettering Health Main Campus l Kettering l PRN l Days Responsibilities & Requirements The Care Manager also identifies and assesses patients and families with possible social, psychological and/or environmental needs related to the impact of utilization patterns of care. The Care Manager is also responsible for developing plans for intervention addressing agreed upon priorities, synchronizing supportive services and assisting patients/families in improving or restoring their capacity for social functioning. The patient and family-centric approach to care will be central in the universal care plan development and communication across the care settings. Registered Nurse-Heart Failure

Responsibilities & Requirements The Registered Nurse is responsible for: Prepares patients and examination rooms, taking initial medical history for the chart, taking vital signs. Assist physician in special procedures, including minor surgery as required. Receive and handle phones calls as directed by physician. Accountable for his/her own professional development and practice within the scope of care defined by law. Any other duties relating to the business operation of the medical practice that may be assigned by the physician(s) or practice office manager. Requirements Current RN license in State of Ohio. ADN (or equivalent experience) required but BSN preferred. Must be ACLS and CPR certified. Excellent communication and teaming skills. Preferred Qualifications Previous nursing experience preferred.
