Job Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for providing nursing services to clients/patients in a variety of settings to include but not limited to: residential care facilities, behavioral health programs, substance use disorder treatment programs, crisis centers, outpatient and/or primary medical care clinics or in the community within client/patient homes. Essential Job Functions: Perform all appropriate nursing assessments per service line requirements, utilizing a high level of clinical competence. Evaluate the client/patient’s physical condition and the need for services. Complete required screenings, record the client/patient’s initial medical histories and vital signs; coordinate any required action planning based on results. JOB TITLE: Obstetrical Technician / LPN / Certified Surgical Technician JOB CODE: 5542 / 5552 / 5557 JOB HOURS: All Shifts JOB SUMMARY: The Obstetrical Technician is a nursing or assistant nursing position on the Women’s Health and Newborn Care Unit. The Obstetrical Technician provides supportive nursing care as a member of the health care team. The department includes functioning in a role between all three units including labor and delivery, NICU, and women’s health & newborn care. The role includes acting as a scrub technician during Cesarean Sections and maintaining of the Cesarean Section Delivery room. Employee responsible for a 30-minute response time to facility upon being called in. This position does have additional cesarean scrub call outside of scheduled hours, which typically consists of one 48 hour weekend of cesarean scrub call every 4 week period.(1900 on Friday to 1900 on Sunday) The Obstetrical Technician functions under the direction of the professional registered nurse. The professional registered nurse is ultimately responsible for the coordination and delivery of nursing care to women and newborns. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Education/Licensure/Certification: a. Can be any of the following in accordance to the assigned job posting: i. Surgical tech certification, ii. Licensed in practical nursing/GPN upon hire iii. Approved by Perioperative services for scrub role as a certified nursing assistant 2. Work Experience: a. Working with perinatal, neonatal, or gynecological patient populations is a plus, but not required. b. Additional skills not required, but beneficial include: i. Secretarial ii. Patient care iii.
