Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, resident-centered nursing care while using strong clinical judgment to assess residents, identify changes in condition, and coordinate appropriate interventions. The RN administers medications and treatments, communicates with physicians and families, supervises and supports LPNs and CNAs, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to promote positive resident outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled nursing care in accordance with physician orders and individualized care plans

  • Perform comprehensive resident assessments and identify changes in condition

  • Use clinical judgment to evaluate resident needs and determine appropriate interventions

  • Administer medications and treatments as ordered

  • Provide and oversee wound care, IV therapy, and other skilled nursing treatments within scope of practice

  • Communicate changes in resident condition to physicians and other members of the healthcare team

  • Supervise and support LPNs and CNAs during the shift

  • Respond promptly to resident needs, call lights, and emergencies

  • Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation

  • Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed

  • Collaborate with physicians, residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team

  • Educate residents and families regarding care, treatment, and health needs

  • Follow infection prevention and infection control protocols

  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives

  • Maintain compliance with CMS, state, and facility regulations

  • Promote resident dignity, safety, comfort, and quality of life

  • Support a positive, respectful, and team-oriented nursing environment

Qualifications

  • Current Missouri Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing

  • Current BLS/CPR Certification

  • Skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, hospital, or post-acute care experience preferred

  • Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and critical-thinking skills

  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

  • Compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a day shift nursing team
