Nurse Practitioner, PainFree Service/Procedural Care (30 or 40 hrs)
$1 - $1,000,000 / year
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) for the PainFree Service will be an integral member of a new multidisciplinary program at Boston Children’s Hospital designed to provide safe, efficient, patient and family-centered care for children and young adults undergoing non-operative procedures and diagnostic testing. Located in the brand-new procedure rooms, the PainFree Service will provide a dedicated procedural environment separate from the operating rooms, with a particular focus on minimizing pain, anxiety, and distress. The program will integrate nursing, APRNs, Anesthesiologists, Child Life, and administrative expertise with innovative approaches to distraction, anxiolysis, sedation, and procedural support. As a member of the program’s founding clinical team, the NP will participate in both direct patient care and the development of clinical workflows, patient selection criteria, protocols, and systems necessary to establish and grow the PainFree Service.
The ideal candidate is an experienced NP who enjoys both clinical practice and program development. This individual will be comfortable working in a new and evolving environment, identifying opportunities to improve workflows, and collaborating across disciplines to create a procedural experience that is safe, efficient, and responsive to the individual needs of children and families.
