Responsibilities

The La Crosse Cardiology practice is a progressive and growing practice including general cardiology, interventional cardiology and electrophysiology. The role of the general cardiology nurse practitioner/physician assistant includes providing comprehensive direct and indirect patient care including outpatient clinic and inpatient hospital service including clinic return/established patients, inpatient consultations and rounding.  

The position requires the ability to communicate with physicians regarding changes in patient's clinical condition; results of diagnostic studies; and patient symptomatology as appropriate. In response to changes in patient condition; accurately and effectively modifies therapeutic interventions. Our team-based care model requires strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate and work together as part of a team.

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current WI RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP, ANP, or AGNP.

Physician Assistant: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a Physician Assistant by the WI Medical Examining Board.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Active BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required
  • Ability to provide both inpatient and outpatient cardiology care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
