We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a permanent Labor & Delivery opportunity in Irving, Texas.

Labor & Delivery Unit

The Labor & Delivery department provides care for OB patients greater than 20 weeks gestation and includes a high-acuity patient population.

  • 10 Labor & Delivery rooms
  • 2 OB Triage rooms
  • Patient ratio: 1:2 in L&D
  • Patient ratio: 1:2–3 in OB Triage, depending on patient acuity, phase of care, and census

The department promotes positive teamwork, collaboration across disciplines, strong communication, accountability, flexibility, and a culture of safety.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to Labor & Delivery patients
  • Assess and monitor patients throughout labor and delivery
  • Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members
  • Support patients and families throughout the childbirth experience
  • Monitor fetal and maternal status and communicate significant changes
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Promote patient safety and quality outcomes
  • Participate in a collaborative and supportive team environment
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Current RN license
  • 1.5 years / 18 months of Labor & Delivery or Antepartum RN experience required
  • Experience in a Level II or higher facility preferred
  • BLS required
  • ACLS required
  • NRP required
  • AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring required within 30 days of hire/transfer
