Registered Nurse Essential Functions/Accountabilities:

  • Consistent patient centered.

  • Knowledgeable of the scope of practice for all nursing disciplines as described by the Nursing Practice Act.

  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively organize and prioritize work and utilize available resources to assist with efficient patient flow in the clinic.

  • Demonstrates understanding of appropriate nurse to provider ratios, skill levels, and cost effectiveness strategies.

  • Actively assists with routine clinic tasks. Utilizes established methods to ensure consistency in maintaining emergency supplies, stock medications, immunizations, forms, etc.

  • Assists in the orientation and education of new nursing employees.

  • Utilizes the health center Performance Improvement processes in identifying the center needs related to any aspect of patient care and customer service.

  • Demonstrates flexibility in work roles and schedules to meet the changing needs of the center.

  • Maintains awareness of new information applicable to job, i.e., policies meeting minutes, procedures, memos, and protocols.

  • Utilizes slow time constructively.

  • Maintains confidentiality of patients and staff.

  • Knowledgeable of and follows all established Infection Control guidelines and OSHA standards.

  • Assists triage patients on-site and via telephone.

  • Documents all provider orders, nursing actions, and interventions on patient record consistent with organizational policies.

  • Provides skilled nursing care as demonstrated by safely and accurately performing technical skills and the safe, accurate administration of medications, IV fluids, and immunizations.

Registered Nurse Qualifications:

Education/ Licensure/ Certifications:

  • Active RN license/associate's degree in nursing

  • BLS verification within 6 months of hiring

Registered Nurse Experience:

Minimum:

  • 1-2 years clinic experience preferred

Job Description: Registered Nurse (RN)- Infusion Registered Nurse Job Summary: An RN Infusion Nurse is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to patients requiring Intravenous (IV therapies, including medication administration, blood products, hydration, and other infusion treatments. This role combines clinical expertise, patient education, and compassionate care to ensure safe and effective infusion therapy. The RN Infusion Nurse works closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care tailored to individual patient needs. The Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Nurse Navigator and Peds Ortho serves in a resource role and delivers direct patient care to Pediatric PM&R and Peds Ortho population. This clinician is experienced and highly skilled with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of related conditions and diagnoses, the major treatment modalities, symptom management, supportive care, and patient education for PM & R and ortho in the pediatric population. At this operational level, the nurse proactively embraces the Orthopaedic Society/Standards of Orthopaedic Nursing practice to utilize the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. The nurse utilizes an interdisciplinary approach across the continuum of care with adherence to National Patient Safety Goals set forth by regulatory requirements. The nurse is recognized and utilized as a clinical resource and demonstrates investment in the overall forward movement of the unit/clinic and the organization.
