Assess patients’ condition, continuously monitoring changes in status, physical findings, vital signs, and coping skills ensuring appropriate care is given related to patients’ needs. Principal Accountabilities: Evaluate fetal heart tones, contractions, and vital signs, informing the doctor of progress and/or concerns as necessary to coordinate care and facilitate a delivery free of complications. Maintain knowledge and clinical skills to access women and newborns with complications and provide care unit stabilization and transport can be accomplished safely. Provide breastfeeding moms with current information and continuing support to achieve their breastfeeding goals for their newborn’s health & nutrition. Education: Associate degree in nursing (two-year program) or equivalent formal training program. Bachelor’s Degree (BSN) preferred, not required.
