The Hamptons Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing is seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Director of Nursing (ADNS) to support the Director of Nursing in the daily clinical operations and overall management of nursing services.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Director of Nursing with the daily management and oversight of nursing operations.
Provide leadership, guidance, training, and support to nursing staff regarding clinical practices and resident care.
Help ensure compliance with CMS, New York State Department of Health (NYS DOH), CDC, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
Monitor clinical documentation and nursing practices to promote accurate, timely, and compliant records.
Participate in QAPI (Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement) initiatives and quality improvement activities.
Assist with survey readiness, regulatory preparation, and follow-up on identified deficiencies.
Serve as the acting nursing leader in the absence of the Director of Nursing/DNS to ensure continuity of care and effective nursing operations.
Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, rehabilitation, social services, administration, and other interdisciplinary team members to promote positive resident outcomes.
Support staff education, competency development, and adherence to facility policies and clinical standards.
Help monitor quality indicators and identify opportunities for improvement in resident care.
Support infection prevention and control initiatives and wound care practices as needed.
Ensure appropriate use and maintenance of medical equipment and diagnostic tools.
Utilize SigmaCare and/or electronic medical record (EMR) systems for clinical documentation and oversight.
Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and compassionate resident-centered care.
Requirements
Current New York State RN license in good standing.
Minimum 2–3 years of nursing leadership experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF), nursing home, or long-term care setting.
Previous Assistant Director of Nursing (ADNS), Director of Nursing (DNS), or upper-level nursing management experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of CMS, NYS DOH, CDC, and long-term care regulatory requirements.
Experience with QAPI, survey readiness, quality improvement, and clinical compliance.
Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and clinical operations.
Background in infection control and/or wound care preferred.
Proficient in the use of medical devices, equipment, and diagnostic tools.
Experience with SigmaCare or other electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred.
Ability to effectively lead, coach, and support nursing staff in a fast-paced skilled nursing environment.
