Overview:

North Shore Associates, a practice partner of Together Women's Health, is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant (MA) to join their growing medical team. The Medical Assistant embraces a strong commitment to providing an exceptional patient experience with every interaction. This role ensures each patients' encounter is professional, warm and caring while meeting a patient's individual needs.

This position will support both Wilmette and Glenview locations, and candidates must be available to work at both offices.

Responsibilities:

Obtain patient's health history and accurately enter into Electronic Medical Record
Set up and prepare exam room for patient visit to ensure cleanliness
Perform any preliminary physical tests and obtain vitals
Set up any additional diagnostic and/or treatment equipment
Administer injections and perform phlebotomy as needed
Complete all documentation pertaining to patient's medical record, test requests, medications and patient education with accuracy and timeliness
May perform Scribe duties
Assist the physician as directed
Must work well in a team environment

Qualifications:

Experience in a medical office setting and/or graduation from a certified Medical Assistant program is required
Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) (Preferred)
Bachelor’s degree (Preferred)
1+ years in a medical office
Experience with EMR system(s) and medical terminology is required
Previous experience at an OBGYN office (Preferred)

Non-exempt from the overtime provisions of the wage and salary regulations. Education Education High School Diploma or High School Equialency (HSE) required. Medical Assistant Certification or equivalent experience preferred. Additional training and/or education in reproductive health or medical services is desirable. Experience Experience Previous professional experience with the provision of family planning services is preferred. Previous medical laboratory and/or counseling experience is preferred. Previous familiarity with computer systems, such as electronic health record (EHR) software, is preferred. Excellent communication skills. Ability to be culturally inclusive and communicate with patients, the public, staff, and volunteers in a civil, courteous, warm, and sensitive manner, including the use of correct pronouns for everyone. Bi-lingual ability in Spanish or other languages common to PPIL patients is helpful. A team-work focused mentality. Ability to actively engage and participate in a team-centered approach to health care, while exhibiting strong organizational skills and attention to detail required. Ability to work a schedule that may include evening and weekend hours required. Ability to travel to assigned Health Center, and to other PPIL work locations as needed, required.
