Purpose: To supervise the day-to-day nursing activities of the facility in a safe, timely and accurate manner in accordance with state and federal requirements and the policies and goals of this facility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist the Director of Nursing Services in directing the day-to-day functions of the nursing activities in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.

Maintain accurate awareness of residents on the alert list. Document and report any unusual or significant findings; contact the physician when necessary. Administer medication according to procedure. Maintain an accurate and safe control of all drugs for which he/she is responsible. Initiate any and all emergency procedures as necessary. Complies with facility Privacy Practices Policies and Procedures and protects residents’ individual health information. Other duties assigned by Director of Nursing and other managerial team members.
