American Traveler is hiring a CVOR RN for a research and academic medical center, requiring 1 year of CVOR experience and MO or compact RN licensure. Job details: - Work in the CVOR unit of an academic medical center - Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday - Patient ratio of 1:3 - Call responsibilities shared among CV staff, approximately 14 shifts per month including weekend call - Floating required to Vascular and General surgery units - Uses Epic charting system Requirements: - Active RN license (MO or Compact) currently in hand - Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; CNOR and TNCC preferred - Minimum 1 year of CVOR experience required - Epic charting experience required - Level 1 Trauma and Level 2 Trauma experience preferred - Teaching hospital experience preferred - Previous charge experience preferred - Skills in vascular, cardiovascular, general, thoracic, and endoscopic surgical procedures preferred - Experience with equipment such as cell saver, electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and Steris systems Additional information: - Provide perioperative nursing care in a cardiovascular operating room setting supporting complex vascular, cardiac, thoracic, and general surgical procedures - Work within a Level I academic trauma center - Candidates must complete required OSHA respirator fit testing prior to start, which requires shaving for a proper mask seal with no medical or religious exemptions accepted - Candidates must reside more than 70 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted - Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration - First-time travelers are welcome to apply as long as the 1 year CVOR experience requirement is met
