POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Resource Nurse plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and compliance with regulatory standards. This role supports employee and occupational health initiatives, conducts chart reviews, assists with clinical informatics, and helps manage medical supplies to keep clinical operations running smoothly. By collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, the Quality Resource Nurse promotes a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout Blue Ridge Care.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Administer immunizations, tuberculosis screenings, and titers in support of employee and occupational health.
Serve as an advanced administrator of the electronic medical record system, providing staff training and troubleshooting support.
Educate staff on compliance standards to ensure documentation aligns with regulations.
Conduct medical record chart reviews, provide feedback, and highlight areas requiring improvement.
Report trends and high-risk areas to leadership to support education and performance improvement.
Support Hospice Outcomes & Patient Evaluation (HOPE) compliance and staff training.
Assist with departmental needs, including supply management, survey calls, incident recording, and service recovery.
Provide education, orientation support, and participate in QAPI meetings.
Deliver direct patient care as assigned (LPNs under RN supervision).
Practice infection control and universal precautions in all interactions.
Manage time effectively to fulfill responsibilities with minimal overtime.
Demonstrate professional communication, collaboration, and confidentiality in all interactions.
Contribute to organizational quality initiatives and uphold Blue Ridge Care’s mission and values.
Travel throughout the service area as needed.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Current and unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Virginia.
Certification in Hospice and Palliative Licensed Nursing (CHPLN) preferred.
Minimum of 3 years’ clinical nursing experience in hospice or palliative care.
Strong knowledge of hospice care principles and regulatory standards.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficiency in EMR systems and comfort with educational technology.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Compassionate, empathetic, and committed to patient-centered care.
Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and insurance in accordance with organizational requirements.
