Job Description

The Advance Practice Registered Nurse- Clinical Specialty provides an advanced level of care in collaboration with specialty physicians and other members of the health care team to a specific patient population. Maintains an advanced knowledge base and skill in the assessment and treatment of disease and management of health/illness where Clinical Specialty is a preferred treatment resource for patients.  May perform specific diagnostic and/or interventional procedures under the supervision of the physician.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master of Science in Nursing required
  • Licensed as a registered professional nurse in Missouri Graduation and certification for Nurse Practitioner program and/or certification in specialty as approved by the Missouri State Board of Nursing for Advanced Practice may be required.
  • 2 years’ experience as family practice nurse practitioner in a Clinical Specialty clinic, or other relevant Clinical Specialty environment Certification affiliated with Clinical Specialty service line
  • Current BCLS certification and must be maintained for continued employment
  • Current ACLS and must be maintained in a current/active state for continued employment when required by the department
  • Demonstrates clinical expertise in Clinical Specialty.
  • Demonstrates leadership ability.

Preferred

  • 3-5 years clinical Clinical Specialty experience preferred
  • Advanced education in the diagnosis and management of patients with diseases where Clinical Specialty is implicated

Nurse Practitioner, Longevity Care in Senior Living (In-Person Contract)

About Total Life Total Life connects adults 65+ with licensed clinicians for behavioral health, geriatric care and longevity services, covered by Medicare, Railroad Medicare and major commercial insurers. Since 2021 we've grown to more than 200 credentialed providers serving patients in 49 states. Most longevity medicine is built for healthy 40-year-olds. Ours is built for older adults. The Longevity Program combines a comprehensive geriatric assessment with chronic disease management, cognitive health, medication review and weight management, organized around five pillars of healthy aging: sleep, nutrition, movement, mental health and social connection. It works alongside a patient's existing care and never replaces their primary care provider. The role This is an in-person contract role. We're looking for nurse practitioners in the Kansas City area to lead longevity days at our partner senior living communities. Each day opens with a short educational talk for residents on healthy aging, using a presentation and speaker notes we provide. You then see the residents who sign up for one-on-one longevity visits. You'll be trained and supported by our Chief Medical Officer, a board-certified geriatrician who designed the program's clinical content. Your first site day is run alongside a member of our team. Schedule Site days are on weekdays. The presentation is the fixed part of the day. The rest depends on how many residents sign up. Expect roughly 4 to 8 hours per site day, a few times a month to start, with hours growing as bookings grow.
