Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN) with an active Illinois RN license.
  • Willingness to obtain or currently holds a Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Nurse Endorsement.
  • Openness to pursue Short-Term Approval this year and work toward Certified School Nurse (CSN) status within 12 years if not already certified.
  • Strong initiative and ability to work both independently and as a supportive team player.
  • Comfort with technology, especially with electronic health records and managing IEP/504 documents electronically.
  • Experienced in or willing to provide personal care assistance to students.
  • Bilingual Spanish-speaking skills and prior CSN experience are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the school health office; complete comprehensive medical reviews.
  • Document all health interactions, manage records, and coordinate with staff and families.
  • Support IEP and 504 meetings as the medical representative.
