Job Description

Responsible for working with other healthcare professionals to help treat patients with various injuries, illnesses or disabilities. Monitors patients, administers medications, keeps records, consults with healthcare providers, educates patients and more.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Maintains accurate, complete health care records and reports.
  • Administers medications to patients and monitors them for side effects and reactions.
  • Prescribes assistive medical devices and related treatments.
  • Monitors, reports, and records symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
  • Assesses, implements, plans, or evaluates patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members.
  • Records patient vital signs and medical information.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • BLS certification.
  • ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification


Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • All ASN must complete their BSN studies within five years of their start date.
  • 2+ year of experience in Oncology nursing or relevant area
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification

Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility or Subacute Rehabilitation setting. Prior experience as a Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing preferred. Strong understanding of CMS regulations, Department of Health survey processes, and quality assurance programs. Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
