Our Labor & Delivery team is dedicated to providing exceptional, compassionate care for mothers, babies, and families throughout the childbirth journey in a supportive, patient-focused environment. East Cooper Medical Center offers comprehensive maternity services, including care for high-risk pregnancies, labor and delivery support, postpartum care, and a Level II special care nursery, all backed by an experienced multidisciplinary team.

  

  • Location: East Cooper Medical Center 

  • Shift: 7pm-7am

  • Call: 1 call shift per schedule 

  • Status: PRN - minimum commitment of 6 shifts/6 weeks


What You'll Do

  • Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and the immediate postpartum period.
  • Assess, monitor, and respond to the needs of mothers and newborns during all stages of childbirth.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Educate and support patients and families regarding labor, delivery, newborn care, breastfeeding, and recovery.
  • Advocate for patient safety while delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced, dynamic clinical environment.
  • Assist during deliveries, emergency situations, and obstetric procedures while maintaining the highest standards of nursing excellence.

What We're Looking For

  • Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
  • Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
