Job Description:

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking professional Registered Nurses with training experience to join our team as Clinical Nurse Trainer. This position provides training to new employees regarding state and federal regulations and is responsible for developing and presenting a variety of clinical and nonclinical training programs. This vital role directly supports our mission of Helping People Live Better Lives.


 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide training to new employees regarding state and federal regulations and the survey process for all licensed/certified health care facilities.
  • Develop and present a variety of clinical and nonclinical training programs.
  • Develop and modify course curriculums based on implementation of new or changed regulations.
  • Accompany new employee(s) on their first facility survey.
  • Ensure computer access for federal programs and all required federal training is completed by staff.

Work Schedule & Flexibility

The training schedule is generally Monday through Thursday, 7am - 5:30pm. Following the completion of training, the work schedule is also typically Monday through Thursday, 7am - 5:30pm. This position requires occasional travel, some requiring overnight stays.


Work Environment

This position is located at the Nebraska State Office Building in downtown Lincoln, NE.

Pay Rate: $39.727/hour - $58.563/hour. Pay rate may be commensurate with education and/or experience within fiscal constraints, if approved.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska or authority based on the Nurse Licensure Compact to practice as a registered nurse in Nebraska and education or experience in planning, developing, conduction and evaluating training or adult development courses and training adult learners.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hospital, Long-Term Care, and/or Home Health/Hospice nursing experience
  • Knowledge of health care regulations

Other:

Valid Driver's License is required
