About the Role

This leadership opportunity supports our highly specialized Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), where multidisciplinary teams provide expert care to critically ill and medically complex pediatric patients. As the Assistant Nurse Manager - PICU, you will partner closely with unit leadership to drive operational excellence, support frontline team members, and foster a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

As part of a leadership team supporting a 24/7 operation, approximately 20% of scheduled hours will be worked during off-shift hours, allowing meaningful engagement with team members across all shifts.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing. 
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree required. 
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.   
  • Required Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.   
  • Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.   
  • 3+ years of experience preferred.
  • Charge Nurse, Shift Coordinator or other leadership experience preferred.
  • PICU/ICU experience preferred.

This unit has 29 inpatient psychiatric beds at its behavioral health center. The Assistant Nurse Manager with Admissions in Behavioral Health assists the Behavioral Health Director in the overall leadership, coordination, and supervision of nursing services within the Behavioral Health unit. This role supports the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care for individuals experiencing behavioral health and psychiatric conditions. The Assistant Nurse & Admission Manager collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure efficient patient flow and operational effectiveness. In addition, this position performs clinical admission duties, including intake assessment, triage, as well as coordinating efficient workflows. The position also serves as a behavioral health resource to internal hospital departments by providing education, clinical guidance, and support related to behavioral health services and admission processes. This position requires an active Registered Nurse license and experience conducting behavioral health assessments, evaluating patients for admission, and applying behavioral health admission criteria.
