Novant Health Coastal Carolina Medical Center is looking for a PRN PACU RN! 

 

  • Location: 1000 Medical Center Dr., Hardeeville, South Carolina 29927 

  • Status: PRN 

  • Schedule: Shifts available M-F 0630-1500  or 0730-1600, 3 shift minimum requirement and 3-4 call shifts per schedule including one 24 hour weekend call.

What You'll Do

  • Patient Monitoring: Continuously monitor heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and consciousness levels.
  • Airway Management: Maintain airway patency and administer oxygen as needed.
  • Post-Operative Recovery: Administer medications to manage pain, nausea, and other side effects.
  • Assessment: Evaluate patients for post-operative complications such as hemorrhaging or infection.
  • Documentation: Accurately document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses to treatment.
  • Collaboration: Work with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and nurses to coordinate care.
  • Discharge Education: Provide instructions to patients and family members regarding recovery.

What We're Looking For

  • Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
  • Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.

Responsibilities We are actively hiring for an Registered Nurse (RN) PreOp PACU. Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA . Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status at intervals according to facility or health care organization policies and procedures to include the patient’s cardiovascular system, respiratory system and airway management needs, neurological system, hemodynamic stability, pain and comfort needs, and mental status. Interpret information accurately from various noninvasive and invasive monitors. Describe the underlying pathophysiology of commonly encountered disease processes. Describe the physiology associated with various anesthesia techniques and surgical or procedural interventions. Apply the relevant scoring system/discharge criteria for patient transfer ( e.g. , Aldrete Score, Modified Aldrete Score [ i.e. , PARSAP], Post Anesthesia Discharge Scoring System [PADSS], White) score accurately as defined by organizational policy. Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care. Implement the plan of care including the following interventions: Preparing for and managing patient recovery from anesthesia – general. Preparing for and managing patient recovery from anesthesia – monitored anesthesia care. Preparing for and managing patient recovery from anesthesia – regional. Responsibilities Contract Registered Nurse (RN) Opportunity Full-time 13-week contract with convenient, flexible scheduling.
