Mercy St. Louis’ RN Career Path Program helps new and experienced RNs build strong clinical foundations in our Med/Surg service line and then transition into a specialty unit with support, mentorship, and a clear timeline.


How the pathway works...

Step 1: Start in Med/Surg (12–18 months) in one of these units:
• Observation Telemetry • General Med/Surg

• Neuroscience • Neurosurgical

• Oncology • Orthopedics • Trauma Surgical


Step 2: Transition to a specialty unit (based on readiness, openings, and fit), such as:

• Pediatrics / PICU • Med/Surg ICU

• Trauma/Neuro ICU • CVICU

• Emergency Department • Burn ICU • Float Pool

Qualifications:
Education: Nursing degree from an accredited school
License: Active RN license in Missouri (or compact, if applicable)
