Registered Nurse School Setting - Boston, MA

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students with complex medical needs during school transport. This role offers immediate start through June 2027, ideal for a dedicated Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse ready to play a vital part in ensuring students safety and well-being each morning.

In this position, you will accompany a small group of students on their morning bus ride, providing essential medical oversight en route to school. Your expertise will help these children and young adults, who have conditions such as encephalopathy, Angelman syndrome, Type 2 diabetes, asthma, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, and other complex cases, arrive safely and ready to learn. The schedule covers approximately 7.5 hours per week, with morning pick-up at 6:15 AM and return to the school around 7:45 AM. Afternoons are covered, so your commitment is focused on the morning run.

What were seeking:

  • Active Massachusetts LPN or RN license
  • At least one year of nursing experience, preferably in a pediatric, school, or transport setting
  • Comfortable with g-tube, seizure monitoring and intervention (Valtoco PRN), asthma care, continuous O2 sat monitoring, and administering emergency medications (e.g., EpiPen)
  • Attentive, compassionate, and able to remain calm under pressure
  • Familiar with wheelchair and mobility assistance

Key responsibilities:

  • Support student safety during morning bus transport
  • Provide skilled nursing interventions as needed for each childs condition
  • Monitor for seizures or respiratory issues, administer medications and treatments per care plans
  • Liaise with families, school staff, and transportation as a valued member of the educational team
