School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) | Torrance, California

As a dedicated School RN, youll support the health and wellness of students while building strong relationships with both staff and families. This position offers a consistent workweek of 35 hours, providing the ideal blend of professional engagement and work-life balance.

Your clinical expertise will help guide proactive measures in the school community, while your compassionate approach will ease students through routine care and health assessments.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current RN license (valid in California)
  • Previous experience as a School RN or in a school health environment preferred
  • Skilled in conducting vision and hearing screenings
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary school staff
  • Excellent organizational abilities and a calm, confident approach in busy settings

Role Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, and implement student health services
  • Perform vision and hearing screenings as required
  • Provide direct nursing care to students and respond to health emergencies
  • Maintain accurate health records in accordance with school policies
  • Develop individualized health plans and serve as a key resource for parents, staff, and administrators
  • Educate students and staff on wellness, safety, and chronic health conditions
  • Facilitate referrals and coordinate care with community providers when necessary
