Job Overview

Fairview Health Services has an immediate opening for an RN Triage Nurse to join our Oncology team! This position is approved for 0.4 FTE (32 hours every two weeks) and works day shifts with a tentative schedule of every Monday and Friday, with 8-hour shifts typically scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

 

This role is primarily remote, providing telephone triage and clinical support to oncology patients. Training will be completed onsite, with the potential to transition to a primarily remote work arrangement upon successful completion of orientation and training. Occasional in-person attendance may be required for meetings, training updates, or departmental needs.

 

Makes nursing decisions in uncertain conditions drawing on a broad based depth of knowledge and is able to recognize life threatening emergencies. Uses systematic, comprehensive patient assessment tools, and uses protocols appropriately. Uses excellent interviewing and documentation skills and well developed communication prowess to assess patients both directly and indirectly. Practices nursing utilizing the nursing process to give advice based on best practice, critical judgment and protocols. Coordinates patient care with other health care team members.

Required Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Nursing or
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing
  • 5 years of clinical RN experience demonstrating solid assessment and visualization skills.
  • Patient education and pro-active disease management experience.
  • MN Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross) Upon Hire
