American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring advanced fetal monitoring skills and Epic experience. Job details: - Work in the Labor and Delivery unit featuring 4 Triage rooms, 11 LDR rooms, and 2 ORs - Unit supports Low and High Risk L&D with 24/7 OB hospitalist and OB anesthesia coverage - Collaborates with NICU and Post-Partum units - Patient population includes neonates, adolescents, and adults - Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30) - 4 weekend shifts per month required (Friday or Saturday) - Mandatory on-call required 2 times per month in addition to scheduled shifts - May be placed on call if not needed for a scheduled shift - Float to Perinatal required if needed - Uses Epic and Allscripts charting systems - Utilizes SBAR communication and Omnicell systems Requirements: - Active CA RN license required at time of submission - Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced - Minimum 2.5 years of Labor & Delivery experience required - Recent experience performing sterile vaginal exams and managing high-risk patients - Knowledge of the CMQCC Category II algorithm required - Advanced fetal monitoring experience required - Skilled in recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns - Experience using external fetal monitoring - Experience circulating for C-sections - Allscripts charting experience preferred - References required for consideration - Required certifications must be submitted with candidacy Additional information: - Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care across low and high-risk patient populations - Circulate for cesarean sections as needed - Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns, intervening as appropriate - First-time travelers are welcome to apply - Local candidates accepted at the travel rate - Return staff reviewed on a case-by-case basis - Facility is smoke/nicotine-free; candidates must arrive free of tobacco odor - No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment - Maximum of 3 days RTO allowed for the contract - One holiday RTO request may be submitted but is not guaranteed approval - Must work most holidays - All RTO must be finalized and submitted with the initial application, as changes are not permitted except to cancel requested time
