An elegant long-term care and skilled nursing facility located near Blairsville, PA is seeking a compassionate and professional Director of Nursing. The Director of Nursing will be responsible for the leadership and management of the Nursing Department and will work closely with the Unit Managers and Administrator to support the overall success of the facility.

Responsibilities of the Director of Nursing:

  • Supervise all nursing staff in the facility.

  • Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures.

  • Oversee the hiring and continued employment of nursing staff.

  • Ensure adequate staffing and that nursing staff maintain current skills.

  • Oversee nursing employee conduct.

  • Remain informed of incidents at the facility.

  • Assess the health needs of each resident.

Requirements of the Director of Nursing:

  • Must have a Pennsylvania RN license

  • MUST have a minimum 2 plus years of experience in a nursing home

  • Must have current experience as a Director of Nursing in a long-term care/ skilled nursing setting

  • Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations, clinical operations, and staff management.

  • Must have long-term care experience

  • Must be a self-starter and energetic

  • Proven leadership and management skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Effectively collaborates with the medical staff and all departments in planning for the total needs of residents and effective team functioning via assigned committees; g.
