Job details: - Level IV trauma center with 26 operating rooms across campus including a hybrid vascular/cardiac suite - Covers a wide range of specialties including Cancer Care, Orthopedics, and Cardiac - Work in Acute Hospital OR, Ambulatory Surgery Center, Orthopedics, Outpatient Surgery, Pre/Post Op, and related procedural areas - Float expected across main hospital ORs, outpatient Same Day Surgery, outpatient Orthopedics, outpatient GI, and Pain Management procedure rooms - Day shift options of 4x10 (6:30-17:00) or 3x12 (6:30-19:00) hours - Call required with every other weekend coverage - Scrubs provided Requirements: - Active CA RN license required on hand at time of consideration - BLS and CRNFA certification required; ACLS preferred - Minimum 2 years of RNFA experience required - Previous charge experience required - Previous travel experience required - Epic charting experience preferred but not required - Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred - Extensive first assist skills required including suturing all wound layers, clamping/cauterizing vessels, tissue manipulation, and wound dressing - Experience with a broad range of surgical specialties including General, Ortho, Neuro/Spine, Gyn, Urology, Bariatrics, and Robotics (Da Vinci, Mako) - Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, instrument processing, isolation precautions/PPE, and sterilization/disinfection required - Management or lead experience required - 1 professional reference required for consideration Additional information: - Serve as first assist on a wide variety of surgical cases including general, orthopedic, gynecologic, urologic, neuro/spine, bariatric, and robotic procedures - Use equipment such as case carts, crash carts, drills, electrosurgical units, and fiber optic light sources - Expected to float within skill set across multiple surgical units - On-call requirement of once per pay period with a 60-minute call-back expectation - Holiday coverage required every other holiday, with preference for 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve) - RTO should not exceed 7 days and must be submitted at time of profile submission; no time off allowed within first two weeks of assignment - No local candidates accepted; permanent address must be more than 50 miles from the facility - First-time travelers will not be considered for this role - Former facility employees must have been separated for 2 or more years to return as a traveler - Only one contract extension allowed; traveler must then take time off equal to the combined contract and extension length before returning
