Key Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license, with experience in school nursing or pediatric care strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in tracheostomy care, ventilator operation, and management of oxygen therapy.
  • Skilled in G-tube management, feeding pump operation, and emergency response protocols.
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies: suction machines, chest vests, pulse oximeters, nebulizers, oxygen tanks/concentrators, and AAC devices.
  • Ability to support mobility needs, including safe oxygen and ventilator handling and assisting with specialized scooters and wheelchairs.
  • Compassionate communication style and commitment to supporting students with complex medical needs in a school setting.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Accompany the student on school transportation and monitor all medical equipment and needs during transit.
  • Deliver attentive, continuous care throughout the school day, including tracheostomy and ventilator management.
  • Handle regular G-tube feedings and monitor hydration and nutrition.
  • Maintain readiness to respond to emergency situations, documenting all interventions accurately.
  • Assist with mobility by managing equipment, ensuring student safety, and fostering engagement in daily school activities.
  • Collaborate closely with school staff and the student's caregivers to provide seamless and compassionate support.
