Job details: - Combined unit servicing L&D (vaginal & cesarean), post-partum, antepartum, and Level II nursery - Level 2 inpatient obstetrical and Level 2 NICU neonatal patient population - Cares for GYN/medical overflow, antepartum, observational triage, mother baby couplet care, and border babies - Performs or assists with procedures such as versions, IOL, cervical ripening, IUFD care and bereavement, and OR cesarean sections - Staffing ratios include 1:1 for complications or active labor, 1:3 for stable antepartum, 1:1-2 for unstable antepartum, 1:3/4 for couplet care, 2:1 for delivery, and 1:2-3 for NICU level 2 depending on condition - Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7p-7a - On-call requirement of 48 hours within a 6 week block - Floating outside specialty may be required to assist as helping hands using general nursing skills Requirements: - Active VA or compact RN license required - Pending license candidates may be considered - Current certifications required: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP - Labor & Delivery nursing experience required Additional information: - Provides direct patient care across L&D, post-partum, antepartum, and Level II nursery units - Assists with specialized obstetric procedures and neonatal care - Supports mother baby couplet care and border baby patients
