Demonstrates competency with electronic medical records (EMR), computerized provider order entry (CPOE), patient tracking systems, and Microsoft Office applications. Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with HIPAA, infection prevention, and patient safety standards. Promotes teamwork through effective collaboration with physicians, advanced practice providers, ancillary departments, EMS personnel, and interdisciplinary teams. Demonstrates excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills while maintaining professionalism under stressful situations. License and Certifications : Current, unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Current AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification. Coordinates self-scheduling to maintain appropriate coverage for unit needs. Maintains Kronos records on a daily basis, monitoring for trends that require intervention i.e.., late clock-ins, incremental overtime, missed punches. Assumes delegated responsibility for inventory control of equipment and supplies to ensure safe and effective patient care. Facilitates timely return of rented or borrowed specialty equipment. Solicits staff input regarding equipment and supply needs for the unit. Maintains understanding of equipment and instrumentation needs and ensures appropriate inventory levels are available for safe and effective patient care. Assists and/or leads staff meetings, special projects and the development, implementation and evaluation of performance improvement activities. Communicates data and solicits input from staff regarding performance and quality improvement i.e. patient safety, infection control. Actively participates on hospital work groups. Routinely meets with Physicians to collaborate on any new initiatives, address concerns, provide updates regarding staffing, equipment, efficiency and performance. Identify performance improvement related needs and coordinate improvement related actives with multidisciplinary team. Demonstrate continuous performance improvement in targeted areas of responsibility in alignment with the overall annual Hospital performance improvement targets. Meets or exceeds financial goals and objectives of the department.
