Medication Reminders Medication support is limited to the responsibilities authorized in the client’s approved non-medical care plan. Caregivers may: Provide scheduled reminders. Assist with an approved prefilled medication planner. Place approved medications in a cup when directed. Remind the client to self-administer their medication. Document reminders and client responses. Report refusals, missed doses or other concerns. Caregivers must not independently administer medication, change medication instructions or provide medical advice outside their authorized scope. Never leave a client unattended when supervision is required. Never leave early without office authorization. Notify the office if a client or family asks them to arrive late, leave early or change the scheduled hours. Complete all required documentation before the end of the shift. Failure to report for an accepted shift, leaving a client without authorization or failing to follow safety procedures may result in removal from the assignment or additional corrective action.
