As a Medical Assistant, you will perform expanded and advanced level medical assistant duties including but not limited to identifying and resolving concerns regarding patient satisfaction, patient flow, and compliance with procedures and guidelines. Position Details: Location: 21 Bristol Dr Easton, MA Schedule: First shift, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Every Wednesday till 6:00pm. No weekends Specialty: Internal Medicine Primary Responsibilities: Manages patient flow, access and scheduling for clinicians to optimize patient appointment availability and serves in a dedicated capacity to one or more clinicians Manages clinicians' daily schedule to expedite care and maximize clinical time. Determines urgency and priority of walk-ins, add-on patients and patient consults Coordinates the practice when clinicians are unavailable. Ensures calls are responded to properly and clinicians receive necessary information Sorts, manages and reviews clinician mail (may be paper or electronic). Maintains and screens MyHealth messages. Addresses incoming questions when appropriate Monitors practice issues and problems. Identifies and resolves concerns regarding patient satisfaction, patient flow, and compliance with procedures and guidelines. Advocates for patients as appropriate Identifies and assists in resolving patient concerns and operational difficulties. Informs supervisor of outstanding issues in the practice Handles patients and third party requests (i.e. worker's compensation, government and social services) for documentation of medical information, such as health status, worker's compensation related care, and return to work authorizations Completes forms needed for visits and submits to MD for review. May need to review patient record for missing information. Verifies prior authorizations May serve as departmental float position rotating among departments. This requires learning the operational issues and practices of multiple areas. Float responsibilities may be within either primary care or specialty departments Participates in care improvement activities as expected, such as Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs), Value Stream Analyses (VSAs), and Managing of Daily Improvements (MDIs) Trains and orients new staff as needed. Certified Medical Assistant, General Surgery (Mashpee)

$24.40 - $29.71 / hour
Purpose of Position: Under the direction of the supervising provider to provide the highest standards of support to the MACC practice. Delivers excellent customer service to patients through participation in a medical care team. Demonstrates a high level of competence with support in accordance with MACC’s policies and procedures. Description Assists in providing clinical care to office patients as delegated by supervising provider Manages provider’s daily schedule and patient flow to expedite care and maximize clinical time Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms, and checks two-patient identifiers Communicates status of delegated task completion to supervising provider Obtains relevant information and takes vital signs as indicated (i.e. height, weight, blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation) Inputs pertinent clinical information into the electronic health record timely and with accuracy and collects home medication lists Assists clinicians with clinical procedures and/or additional tests specific to the department. Keeps patients informed of visit status, unforeseen delays and other relevant information pertaining to the patient’s visit Prepare and maintain exam rooms for patient arrivals. Clean and/or maintain inventory of supplies (medical included) and equipment throughout the practice. Notifies supervisor to order clinical supplies, clinical equipment and pharmaceuticals as appropriate Under the supervision of a provider, administers routine injections when delegated, and documents in real time and with accuracy Participates in practice and department meetings, trainings, etc. to promote continuous improvement of quality patient care Takes initiative to learn, understand, and stay current with community resources and the greater healthcare system Maintains patient rights and abides by all confidentiality obligations pursuant to CCHC and HIPAA Provides clerical/office support as necessary (i.e. scheduling appointments, greeting and registering patients, scanning incoming medical records and paperwork, preparing medical records, answering phone calls and taking messages, faxing, etc.) Ability to float to other MACC practices when required Performs other work-related duties and activities as assigned or requested Qualifications Ability to read, write and communicate in English Medical Assistant - Certification from either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA) Completion of a post-secondary medical assisting program required for PCP Office (Preferred for Specialty Office) Basic Life Support Certification for Health Care Providers Strong interpersonal, customer service, time management skills Experience with current office technology, proficient with computer office applications (Electronic Medical/Health Records, MS Office, etc.) Minimum of two years’ experience in a clinical setting preferred Schedule Details: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8:30a - 4:30p, No Weekends & No Holidays Organization : Medical Affiliates of Cape Cod Primary Location : Massachusetts-Mashpee Department : MAC-General Annual/Hourly: Hourly Hiring Pay Range: 24.4 - 29.71
