Medication Assistance: Count Control Substance with outgoing PCA (sign your initials if count is correct). Any missing Controlled substances should be reported to Administration. Prepare medication, bring medication to dining room during meal time, and assist residents with medication. If a resident requires medication prior to breakfast, the charge PCA shall go to the resident's room and assist the resident with medication. If a resident requires afternoon or after dinner medication, the PCA shall assist the resident with medication from the med room. Tests are performed in Blood Bank, Coagulation, Hematology, Urinalysis, Microbiology, and Chemistry. Professional application of the theories and techniques of clinical laboratory science (including evaluation of quality control data) are used to produce reliable test results which aid the clinician in diagnosis and treatment. Has full access to patient health information. May have access to medication storage areas (excluding controlled substances) as related to job responsibilities. Shift: M-F, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, every 5th weekend Requirements Medical Technologist: Must have at least sixty semester hours of college with training in a certified Medical Technology training program. Must be currently registered or eligible by ASCP or AMT. Medical Laboratory Technician: Must have an associate’s degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician and be registered or eligible by ASCP or AMT. Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time. Based on state regulations and completion of required training/certification, Medication Aides/Techs will administer or assist with self-administration of medication and treatments as prescribed by the health care provider and observe/report responses to your supervisor. Certified Medication Aides/Techs make sure the medication supply room is organized and clean, assist with medication cart audits, and provide accurate counts of all medications.
