Miami, FL On Call/Pool JS Emergency Room Summary Patient Care Associate 2 is a licensed member of the health care team who performs advanced, supportive administrative and certain clinical duties to support the delivery of age specific and a single standard of care, under the supervision of a registered nurse, for a group of patients relating to their hygiene, safety, nutrition, elimination and comfort needs. The position may require demonstrating knowledge and skills in specialty area. This is a Level 4 job in the nursing support ladder. Responsibilities Uses a systematic process to provide/modify care and patient/family education. Assists health care team with advanced procedure; prepares supplies equipment; provides patient/family support, assists in positioning patients, sets up/or remove equipment etc. Performs a variety of tasks associated with generalized patient care (vital signs, feeding, mobility, IV lines, drainage, personal hygiene: bath, dressing, bed making/linen changes etc.). Utilizes specialized equipment as needed when providing patient care (spirometer, restraints etc.). Prepares and cleans exam rooms, patient treatment areas and stretchers between patient use.
