CNMs provide care throughout the lifespan, with a focus on pregnancy, labor and delivery, postpartum care, and general gynecological services.Responsibilities • Provide prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care to women and their newborns. • Conduct routine gynecological exams, including Pap smears and breast exams. • Offer family planning services and contraceptive counseling. • Assist with labor and delivery, including natural and medically assisted births. • Monitor the health of mother and baby during and after childbirth. • Prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests as needed. • Collaborate with OB-GYNs, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals. • Educate patients on reproductive health, childbirth preparation, and newborn care. • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records. • Advocate for holistic, patient-centered care and support maternal mental health • Document all patient interactions accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR) inclusive of direct patient encounters and asynchronous care. Requirements • Registered Nurse (RN) license and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in Washington State. • Successful completion of an American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM)-accredited nurse-midwifery program • Current active certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board (or its predecessor, the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) Certification Council), or be actively seeking initial certification and obtain the same on the first examination for which he or she is eligible • Clinical experience in obstetrics, gynecology, or women’s health. • Strong interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills. • DEA, NPI & Prescriptive authority • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association • Professional liability insurance coverage issued by a recognized company and in an amount equal to or greater than the limits established by the governing body. • Completion of Fetal Heart Monitoring education as per MHS Fetal Monitoring Requirements for Initial Applicants, which needs to be completed within 60 days of being granted privileges and remain current at the time of reappointment. Pay and Benefit Expectations We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $95.49 - $95.49 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align. Wage Range: $70.00 - $90.00 per hour Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. Certified Nurse Midwife (Per Diem) The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), within the scope of licensure, provides Nurse Midwifery care to ante partum, intrapartum and post-partum to woman and newborn patients. In addition, they will provide well women and primary care women of all ages through assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic illness. Health care interventions include, but are not limited to: physical treatments, prescription of medications, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests/procedures, performing specialized treatments, and health promotion and disease prevention counseling. Provides guidance and leadership to students; formal education programs to patients, professional colleagues and members of the community. Responsibilities Provides antepartum, post-partum, family-planning and well-woman gynecological care independently and with consultation to low, moderate and high-risk adolescent and adult women based on scope of practice and established guidelines. Functions in collaborative relationships with consulting physicians as clinically indicated. Participates in the daily functions and staff rotations as directed by the Medical Director. Practice includes full participation in outpatient care & full scope of midwifery. Qualifications Experience: Full scope women’s healthcare and midwifery experience. Demonstrated competency in clinical care, as appropriate to the ages of patients served. Ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient’s needs; knowledge of growth and development; and an understanding of the range of treatment needed by these patients. Licensure Current applicable state license as a Registered Nurse/ Nurse Midwife/ Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Privileges (NP-PP) required. National Certification as a Nurse Midwife (MW) required. Possess active BLS card from the American Heart Association. Pay Range USD $73.32 - USD $93.75 /Hr.
