The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist prepares prescribed solutions and administers anesthetic following specified methods and procedures. CORE JOB FUNCTIONS Preforms pre and post anesthesia patient visits and documents anesthesia notes on patient records. Reviews medical history, evaluating patients and determining proper methods of anesthesia. Performs or evaluate diagnostic tests, such as radiographs (x-rays) and electrocardiograms (EKG’s). Measures and monitors the level and speed at which anesthesia is administered. Monitors patient vital signs to ensure safety, to include skin color, pupil dilation, pulse, heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, ventilation or urine output. Informs physician of patient’s condition during anesthesia.
