The Charge Nurse assists in mentoring of new associates, academic partners and participates in annual performance review process. Performs other duties as assigned. The RN assesses patient/family needs, develops and priorities patient goals, evaluates care delivery, and continually revises the plan of care to meet the biological, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual, developmental, and educational needs of the patient/family. Administers IV therapy, medications, enteral feedings, and other ordered treatments in accordance with hospital policy. Provides ongoing patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning. Ensures accurate documentation of patient care, valuables, supplies, and charges. Performs wound care, dressing changes, specimen collection, glucose monitoring, and urinary catheterization using aseptic technique. Adheres to infection control standards, safety protocols, and proper use of restraints and unit-specific equipment. Coordinates safe and efficient patient transfers and discharges, ensuring complete documentation and handoff communication. Overview The Advanced Practice Provider (CRNP/PA) provides comprehensive direct patient care in collaboration with the attending physicians and multidisciplinary team.
