New hires effective June 14, 2017, must obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the position. Preferred Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Required Experience Minimum of two (2) years of recent acute care nursing experience. Previous critical care nursing experience required. Preferred Experience Prior charge nurse, preceptor, leadership, or supervisory experience in a critical care setting. Licensure & Certifications Required Current Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification upon hire or within six (6) months of hire/transfer, as required by unit standards. Preferred National specialty certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) or related specialty certification. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrated leadership, delegation, and team-building skills. Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking abilities in a fast-paced critical care environment. Ability to prioritize competing demands and coordinate patient care effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of regulatory standards, patient safety practices, and evidence-based nursing care. Proficiency in utilizing patient care technologies and electronic medical record systems.
