Your Role on the Team Position Summary Incumbent functions independently providing direct and indirect patient care based on the nursing process for the patients seen in Digestive Health Institute. Provides education as needed to the patients/family related to surgical care, diagnostic procedures, medication/treatments and other complex aspects of the plan of care. Assures that the continuum of care process is complete to include: pre-procedure, surgical preparation and teaching, hospitalization, anticipated discharge needs, and follow up in the physician offices.
