This position is differentiated from the Registered Nurse Supervisor, CI in that this position plans and coordinates the provision of nursing care for a division for all shifts and directly supervises the Registered Nurse Supervisors, CI while Registered Nurse Supervisor, CI has responsibility for twenty-four hour supervision of a unit or is a shift supervisor for several wards and has supervisory responsibility for Registered Nurses Charge, CI and Registered Nurses, CI. Minimum Qualifications Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or health-related field from an accredited college or university. Experience: Four years of experience as a Registered Nurse to include two years in a supervisory, administrative or consultative capacity and two years in a psychiatric setting. Notes Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master’s degree in Nursing or a health related field from an accredited college or university and two years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a psychiatric setting for the required education and experience. Candidates may substitute six years of experience as a Registered Nurse to include three years in a supervisory, administrative or teaching capacity in a psychiatric setting for the required education and experience. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Nursing classifications or Nursing and Hospital Administration specialty codes in the Nursing field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland. Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete and maintain current certification of cardiopulmonary resuscitation training.
