Responsibilities Assist with patient care under the direction of physicians. Prepare patients for office visits and procedures. Preforms a variety of patient care activities, such as vaccine/medication administration, phlebotomy, and point of care testing. Provides indirect patient care via phone or EHR by addressing patient questions, processing medication refills and scheduling follow-up appointments. Utilize electronic health record for efficient care. Qualifications One year experience as a clinic back office medical assistant preferred. Education: Completion of a medical assistant program or equivalent experience; or Completion of a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces; or Completion of Basic or Advanced Oregon Emergency Medical Technician program (Oregon only) Licensure MA certification required within one year, from either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), the American Medical Technologists (AMT), the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or the National Healthcare Association (NHA). Overview As a Clinic Assistant, your workdays will be varied and engaging. Responsibilities The Clinic Assistant MA participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of a physician. In addition, offers complex, diversified office support within the clinic setting. Provides a variety of key services guiding the patients through the continuum of care between physician services, diagnostic services and hospitalizations Requires advanced administrative skills and knowledge of physician outpatient clinic operations, knowledge and experience with insurance plans and benefit designs, and pre-authorization procedures, and some knowledge of CPT and ICD coding. Work is generally performed independently requiring judgment and problem-solving skills under limited supervision. Qualifications Education: Completion of a medical assistant program or successful completion of a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces, or higher education (such as LPN or RN). Experience: Experience as a back office medical assistant in a clinic setting. A minimum of three years of progressively more responsible health care experience or equivalent education in at least one of the following areas required: Patient Registration Medical Records/Health Information Clerical support experience Insurance Verification/Authorization/Referrals Skills: Advanced skill with appropriate computer systems and software packages. May require ability to transcribe reports, forms, and correspondence, including the use of technical and medical terminology, from longhand or dictation. Ability to compose routine correspondence and reports. Ability to edit documents for grammar, punctuation, etc. Knowledge of departmental policies and procedures. Time management and organizational skills. Ability to withstand varying job pressures and effectively prioritize related tasks. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work with confidential information. Licensure Washington and Oregon: Current American Heart Association approved CPR certification required. MA certification required upon hire, or within one year of hire, from either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), the American Medical Technologists (AMT), the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), the National Healthcare Association (NHA) or higher (such as LPN or RN). AAMA preferred. Certification may be required upon hire, depending on the needs of the department. Accesses and de-accesses implanted ports. Assesses and manages central venous access devices including routine dressing changes, cap changes and intervenes to maintain patency of central venous access devices. Serves as a resource for the health care team in the intravenous access, placement, management, and patient/family education for care and maintenance. Service area is both inpatient and outpatient. Qualifications Education: As required by licensure. BSN or degree in progress strongly preferred. Overview Position Overview Legacy Health offers an exciting growth opportunity to join a well-established team of collaborative and energetic Neonatal Nurse Practitioners (NNPs). This role provides the opportunity to practice across both Level III and Level IV NICU settings within the Legacy system. NNPs are integral to delivery attendance and the medical management of high-risk neonates and infants, including daily rounding on NNP service patients. Level IV NICU – Randall Children’s Hospital The Level IV, 45-bed NICU is located within Randall Children’s Hospital, a freestanding, nine-story pediatric facility. This unit provides comprehensive care supported by a full range of pediatric subspecialties, including cardiac and neurosurgical services, genetics, and ECMO. Care is delivered within a family-integrated model, supported by a dedicated pediatric transport team. Notably, this role does not require transport responsibilities. Level III NICU – Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center The Level III, 22-bed NICU at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center is a growing unit actively expanding its NNP team. Scheduling is flexible and evolving, with 12-, 16-, and 24-hour shift options available to support work-life balance and team coverage. Scheduling & Practice Model This position is based in the Portland/Vancouver area and requires dual licensure in Oregon and Washington. NNPs rotate between both NICU sites, with frequency tailored to individual preferences while ensuring 24/7 coverage, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Overview LPNs take care of patients that have long term treatment needs. Often, these patients do not have a safe discharge plan to complete the treatment elsewhere and therefore continue to have a bed in the hospital. LPNs could have the opportunity to have hands on experience with wound care and IV antibiotics, among other long term care treatment. LPNs may often work beside acute care RNs but not directly in acute patient care areas. They work in collaboration with a C.N.A., charge RN, unit coordinator and physician. Care is delivered within a family-integrated model, supported by a dedicated pediatric transport team. Notably, this role does not require transport responsibilities. Level III NICU – Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center The Level III, 22-bed NICU at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center is a growing unit actively expanding its NNP team. Scheduling is flexible and evolving, with 12-, 16-, and 24-hour shift options available to support work-life balance and team coverage. Scheduling & Practice Model This position is based in the Portland/Vancouver area and requires dual licensure in Oregon and Washington. NNPs rotate between both NICU sites, with frequency tailored to individual preferences while ensuring 24/7 coverage, including nights, weekends, and holidays. A well-established self-scheduling model and structured holiday tracks contribute to provider satisfaction and balance. Responsibilities Provides patient care within an assigned department/unit Functions as a member of the health care team in collaboration with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee Adheres to the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse Performs all aspects of the nursing process: Assesses, analyzes, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care Follows established patient care standards set by Legacy Health System, including standards for patient assessment & patient transfer. Qualifications Education: As required by licensure. BSN or degree in progress strongly preferred. BSN may be required for specific assignments; experienced RNs without a BSN may be hired based on clinical experience with approval of the site CNO. Experience: One-year registered nursing experience or completion of either the Legacy Health RN Residency program or a nursing program that is equivalent in content, curriculum and duration. Additional clinical experience requirements may vary dependent upon the specific department in which the position is utilized. Skills: Demonstrated ability of positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians and the community. Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions. Licensure Current applicable state RN license required. BLS for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association required. Pay Range USD $56.68 - USD $84.66 /Hr.
