Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner Needed!! KOPA, Inc . is looking for a Internal Medicine Nurse Practitioner to diagnose and treat health conditions, as well as promote good health practices. This position will be at the Avante at Leesburg . As an advanced practice registered nurse, you’ll be our go-to person for ensuring the best patient care possible. The job description of a nurse practitioner includes conducting physical examinations, interpreting lab tests and overseeing patients’ health. You’ll be both a health practitioner and an educator, supporting disease prevention practices and helping people lead healthy lives. As a Nurse Practitioner, you’ll have to work closely with other healthcare professionals, so you should have a team spirit and a positive attitude. Patience, problem-solving skills and communication ability are important. If you’re dedicated to advancing your knowledge and clinical expertise through research and professional discourse, we’d like to meet you. We will be providing essential care to a very compromised group of individuals who do not require acute care, however, due to specialized infection control needs of these residents, many other skilled nursing facilities are unable to provide this level of care and therefore these residents are in need of temporary placement. Responsibilities: Examine patients and their medical records Order and study diagnostic tests (blood tests, X-rays etc.) Diagnose health conditions and illnesses Propose treatments for chronic and infectious diseases Prescribe medications Maintain accurate records and schedules Inform patients about their health conditions and prescribed medications Educate patients and their family members on diseases, epidemics and prevention Oversee patients’ overall health Promote good health practices Advance professional knowledge and conduct research Supervise and mentor a team of nurse practitioners Review documentation and provide clinical feedback Lead team meetings Assist with onboarding and training of new NPs Help monitor performance and support ongoing development Act as a liaison between the NP team and facility leadership Assist in creating and refining workflows, protocols, and best practices Provide coverage at other Florida facilities when needed (e.g., vacation, sick leave, or coverage gaps), which may involve occasional in-state travel Skills: Proven experience as Nurse Practitioner in a skilled nursing facility, minimum 1 year of supervisory experience Expertise in primary care, acute care and chronic care practices Knowledge of health and patient care regulations Excellent communication skills Strong ethics Team spirit with a positive attitude Patience and cool-headedness Willingness to continue gaining knowledge and clinical experience Valid nurse practitioner license Benefits: Competitive Compensation Comprehensive Insurance Coverage (Medical, Dental, Vision, and more!) As a Full Time Licensed Practical Nurse, Health Center Manage r, you'll provide care to client employees and their dependents in our Health Center located in Mount Dora, FL. The scheduled hours are 32 per week, Monday-Thursday, 8am-5pm. Dual management/clinical role. Strong phlebotomy skills required. Excellent work/life balance - No Fridays! What You'll Do Oversees the overall management of a medium size health center (2+ regularly scheduled employees) Provides a moderate amount of time (15- 50%), dedicated to patient care and/or technical expertise as needed. Manages technical Team Leaders and monitors all daily operational processes for Medical Leaders and providers Compiles input for the performance appraisal process for all staff members Manages staff typically composed of RNs, administrative and technical staff (staff may be exempt or nonexempt); Responsible for following appropriate processes for staff management including talent acquisition, staff development and performance management. Provides input to Director, Client Operations for the final staffing decisions. Responsible for interviewing, training and ensuring the successful orientation and onboarding of new colleagues Manages daily operations, workflow, work schedules, timecard monitoring etc. to ensure efficient and effective Health Center performance Identifies process improvement opportunities and presents resolutions and recommendations to the Director, Client Operations Makes recommendation regarding staffing model based on objective scheduling & volume analysis – presents to Director, Client Operations for approval Understands and complies with all regulatory, procedural, policy and licensing requirements Completes incident reports as needed and provides assistance to the Medical Care and Outcomes dept. regarding investigations and the resolution of complaints Communicates and coordinates corporate messages and ensures implementation of policies and procedures are followed Coaches and provides feedback to staff on a regular basis Manages internal budget, reviews expenses, purchases supplies, inventories equipment, medication etc. where appropriate Assists in the identification and scheduling of local per diems Works collaboratively with the Medical Leader at the site to manage internal site issues Communicates regularly with staff, conducts meetings and keeps staff informed. Acts as health center’s infection control lead and collaborates with the corporate Director of Quality and Infection Control Officer. May interact with client representatives as required Other duties as assigned What You'll Bring Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required Current license as a LPN/LVN, RN or NP/PA in practicing state Certification in Occupational Health (COHN/COHN-S) may be required for some sites Current hands on certification in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for health care providers is required Minimum 3+ years’ experience in the medical field 2 – 3 years’ management experience Experience accessing CDC, WHO, APIC or other industry standards for Infection Prevention practices.
