Student Nurse Summer Immersion - Adult Medical ICU

This is a summer position primarily geared towards nursing students to work full-time hours on a rotating schedule (days, nights, and weekends). Job Profile Summary This role focuses on providing professional and nonprofessional nursing care services in accordance with physician orders . In addition, this role focuses on performing the following Nursing Support duties: Provides basic care services to patients, but does not have an RN or LPN license . Negotiates all scheduled breaks with nurse to ensure adequate coverage to meet the patient and unit needs . 21. Performs the necessary tasks to ensure a clean, clutter-free, and safe work environment for patients and staff . 22. Cleans and stocks equipment and supplies to ensure adequate par levels to meet patients’ needs . Reports non-functioning equipment and other environmental problems to the appropriate individuals in a timely manner . 23. Covers for the Unit Coordinator in answering the telephone, call lights and greeting visitors to the unit . 24. Adheres to department expectations regarding attendance, n otifies the nurse whenever he/she leaves unit , completes mandatory education, utilizes resources and supplies in a cost effective manner, attends educational offerings when staffing on the floor allow, attends staff meetings when appropropriate (or reads minutes after). Position Summary Seeking an APRN for a flexible outpatient role supporting services through extended service rotations, providing several consecutive months on each team to promote deeper clinical immersion and continuity of care. Serve as a primary clinical provider for infants, children, and adolescents in these outpatient clinics: Gastroenterology, Allergy, Pulmonary, Infectious Disease, and primary care.
