We are hiring full-time and part-time Registered Nurses (RN) to join our dynamic care team at Worcester Rehabilitation & Health Care Center! Full-time openings on 7a-3p and 11p-7a and includes every other weekend. Part-time opening on 11p-7a. Weekly pay ranges from $42 to 44.50, depending on the shift. As a Registered Nurse, you provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by the nursing assistants to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. Education and Experience: Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited school of nursing or college. Must be CPR certified. Must have a current and active RN license in the state. A minimum of one (1) year in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility is preferred, but not required. New graduates welcome! Duties and Responsibilities: Meet the nursing and rehabilitation needs of each resident. Maintain current resident care plans on all residents under his/her care. Follow physician’s orders. Renders and/or assist with complete nursing care, treatments, dressings, and other physician orders. Transcribe physician’s orders promptly and accurately. Review patient records daily to assure accuracy and completeness. Document comprehensive and complete nursing notes. Visit each resident daily to evaluate resident needs. Maintain accurate awareness of residents on alert list. Document and report any unusual or significant findings; contact the physician when necessary. Administer medication according to procedure. Maintain an accurate and safe control of all drugs for which he/she is responsible. Initiate any and all emergency procedures as necessary. Demonstrate correct safety techniques in accord with orientation and training processes of Athena and your specific job description. Complies with facility Privacy Practices Policies and Procedures and protects residents’ individual health information. Other duties assigned by Director of Nursing and other managerial team members. Specific Requirements: Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. Directs and supervises assigned personnel including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training. Makes recommendations on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and similar actions. Resolves grievances and other personnel problems within position responsibilities. 2. Develops and recommends the budgets for the areas managed. Manages activities to assure financial goals are met. 3. Coordinates the assignment of tasks and helps resolve technical and operational problems. Evaluates the impact of solutions to ensure goals are achieved. 4. Provides effective direction, guidance, and leadership over the staff for effective teamwork and motivation and fosters the effective integration of efforts with system-wide initiatives. 5. All responsibilities are essential job functions. II. Position Qualifications: License/Certification/Education: Required: 1. Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with employee currently enrolled in a qualified MSN program. 2. Master’s Degree completion within 5 years of employment at Nurse Manager level. 3. Massachusetts Registered Nurse License. Experience/Skill: Required: 1. Broad and thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing. 2. Previous leadership/management experience. 3. Must possess the interpersonal and communication skills to provide effective participative leadership and to interact with patients, families, physicians, and other visitors and staff. 4. Strong analytical skills required to perform various data analysis techniques, review statistical and budgetary information and synthesize information appropriately. Preferred: 1. Minimum 3 years of directly related work experience in the field of specialty. Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements. Department-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents. III. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions: Work is considered moderate, frequent walking, standing, lifting and potential exposure to hazardous materials including infectious diseases. Position requires work indoors in a patient care environment. Position requires use of computer, and therefore requires ability to use keyboard, printer, various information system programs (Onestaff, Visionware, Kronos).
