Responsibilities Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process while delivering, directing and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit. The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates, and provides patient care to include interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources. Qualifications Education and Training: Holds a current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure if state participates. Current BLS certification is required. Evidence of ACLS certification is required within 90 days of employment. BLS and ACLS certifications must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment. Current ACLS certification is required for Charge Nurses. Experience: One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required. III. Orientation and Training Care Comfort Hospice will provide orientation and training, as necessary, to assist the Hospice Nurse in performing the responsibilities listed above. Training may be in-house or outside seminars. Evidence of orientation and training will become part of the personnel file. IV. On Call The Hospice Nurse will be on call according to scheduling.
