Demonstrates competency in providing care during obstetric emergencies to include: shoulder dystocia, hemorrhage, abruption, fetal distress, emergency cesarean section, and hypertension in pregnancy. 14. Demonstrates proficiency in providing post-delivery/recovery care which may include promoting family bonding and initial newborn breastfeeding within one hour of birth. 15. Demonstrates competency in care of the family experiencing perinatal loss 16.May be assigned as charge nurse which includes the following duties: a) Maintain patient flow through the unit. b) Assign and adjust staffing based on patient acuity. c) Complete RN Charge check off list in a timely manner. d) Act as a liaison with the nursing house supervisor. e) Demonstrate conflict management and problem solving skills in dealing with staff, patients, families, physicians and other departments. Education Requirements and Other Requirements: Education Level: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Certification/Licensure: Illinois license or eligible. BLS certification required.
