The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing care process consistent with their license and/or certification including initiation of culturally competent continuum of care including inpatient, outpatient and community settings. The Registered Nurse is responsible for overseeing any necessary coordination of the interdisciplinary plan of care and provides for its consistency with the medical treatment plan. The patient care process includes: * Assessment - an orderly process consisting of the identification, gathering and organization of subjective and objective data pertaining to the patient/family/significant other, including physical, psychosocial, spiritual and cultural. * Planning - an organized step in the process that consists of the identification of actual or potential problems and desired outcomes (goals) that result in a documented plan of care. The plan of care provides direction for the patient/family/significant other and interdisciplinary team. * Intervention - the specific interventions or orders that are implemented consistent with the plan of care and medical treatment plan. * Evaluation - a step in the process that involves determining the effectiveness of the interventions in achieving the plan of care and determining the conclusions concerning the achievement or lack of achievement of desired outcomes. The evaluation may initiate the need for reassessment and revisions to the problems, goals, plan of care, and interventions. This step provides for documentation of required actions. Based upon findings identified during assessment and reassessment: * Patients have problems identified and prioritized relative to biophysical, psychological, environmental, self-care, educational and social status. * Goals are identified consistent with the problem to provide direction for patient care and health promotion. * Education is consistent with the identified problem and associated goals and is seen as critical to creating an environment that promotes patient empowerment * Employee may be required to perform Limited Laboratory Services to include patient identification and preparation for specimen collection, processing samples for testing, performing required quality control testing and instrument maintenance and function checks, monitoring, recording and reporting tests results to clinicians to include critical values, and maintaining competency/certification of the aforementioned tasks and duties. Licensed and registered care providers responsible for utilizing the care process relative to their scope of practice and knowledge base, may document the assessment, plan, intervention and Evaluation. All patient care activities are administered according to standards, procedural guidelines and organizational policy. The Registered Nurse actively supports performance improvement initiatives and provides leadership to other members of the patient care team. By participating in educational activities, the Registered Nurse assumes responsibility for continued professional and personal growth. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/LICENSE: * Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred. * Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey or current multi state license required. * American Heart Association BLS required upon hire or transfer. EXPERIENCE: Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire. Cath Lab (cath lab holding, Electrophysiology (EP)) Critical care, emergency room, cath-lab or telemetry experience preferred; * ACLS at time of hire or transfer Non-Invasive Lab MLD 2 years telemetry experience required * ACLS at time of hire or transfer Endoscopy 2 years medical/surgical experience required; Endoscopy, telemetry and critical care experience preferred. * ACLS is required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer. Radiation Oncology/ Cape May Radiation Therapy/ Radiation Therapy Mainland Oncology experience preferred. * ONS/ONCC(r) Radiation Therapy Certificate, required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer, renewal every 2 years. * Minimum of 12 oncology-related CEUs yearly or Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or Radiation Oncology Certified Nurse (ROCN) certification renewed every 4 years. ROCN or OCN preferred Medical Oncology/ Infusion Services/ Cape May Medical Oncology/ Retired Nurse Program (Oncology) Oncology experience preferred * ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Administration or Chemotherapy/ Immunotherapy certificate, required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer, renewed every 2 years. * Minimum of 12 oncology-related CEUs yearly or Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification renewed every 4 years. OCN preferred Wound Care Medical/Surgical experience preferred. * ACLS required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer. * Wound care and HBO Training course through Healogics is required within 1 year from date of hire or transfer. Psychiatry (1 West/1 Pines & Psychiatric Intervention Program (PIP) Medical/Surgical and psychiatry experience preferred. * (QPRT) annual education required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer * CPI by 10/31/25 for existing employees, and new employees have 1 year from hire or transfer date. Acute Partial/Child Adolescent Program Experience in behavioral health setting required. Crisis intervention Prevention Preferred; tracked by department leadership. * A valid NJ Driver's License is required for all employees in the Adult and Child Partial Programs. * CPI is required within 90 days of hire or transfer and renewed annually. Labor and Delivery (L&D) 2 years labor and delivery experience preferred * ACLS is required within 6 months from date of hire or transfer. * NRP is required within 4 months from date of hire or transfer. Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) 2 years Neonatal Intensive Care Unit experience preferred. * NRP is required within 4 months from date of hire or transfer. Mother/Baby Unit (OB) 2 years mother/baby experience preferred. * NRP is required within 4 months from date of hire or transfer. Perinatology/ Material Fetal Medicine (MFM) 3 years labor and delivery experience preferred. * EFM-C certification required within 6 months of hire or transfer. Capable of logging into electronic health record for start of day procedure and completes end of day procedure. This includes computer for methadone and buprenorphine Responsible for accurate dispensing and recording of methadone/suboxone for outpatient clients per state and federal regulations Ability to reconcile methadone/suboxone in electronic health record. Accurately dispenses and records methadone/suboxone per federal regulations to include counting and recording Controlled Dangerous Substances with two medical/nursing personnel. Able to perform bottle to bottle transfer of methadone. Ability to document incidents regarding methadone/suboxone per federal regulations. Ability to accurately enter methadone/suboxone dosages per MD orders and renew expired orders. Accurate assessment of clients prior to dosing, not limited to vital signs and document results. Ability to obtain thorough and complete history and physicals on admission, annuals and as needed when dosing or medical issues occur during treatment. Ability to obtain accurate medication lists and have basic knowledge of possible interactions with methadone and buprenorphine. Capable of delivering consistently superior quality service as measured by the clients' medical level. Provide orientation to new clients (infection control/universal precautions, dosage, safe handling). Ability to manage methadone and suboxone accountability forms and logs.
