The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides comprehensive critical care across the Medical ICU in a 24/7 rotational model. This role includes primary management of MICU patients, participation in the procedure service, oncology critical care consults, and coverage of an expanded MICU service. The scope of practice also includes family support, teaching, staff education, consultation, and research. Advanced Practice Nurse: Provide comprehensive care to patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit or inpatient units cared for by the Medical ICU service at the University of Chicago.
