Responsibilities Job Description Key Responsibilities Clinical Oversight Oversees the clinical operations for all nursing clinical support activities. Establishes and maintains all nursing personnel files. Ensures all licensing and certification criteria are met. Assists with the review and revision of clinical policies and procedures. Ensure adequate staffing/FTEs for assigned clinics Maintains effective nursing staff coverage and operating costs for the practice and/or satellites within budgetary parameters. Participates in the interviewing and recruiting of nursing personnel. Performs tasks assigned to staff nurses as necessary Demonstrates working knowledge of applicable labor laws and schedules and coordinates employee staffing including vacations, sick leave and overtime. Ensure clinical operations and practice consistent with organizational objectives Monitors and evaluates patient satisfaction and quality assurance measures. Directs the correct use of charge codes and coordinates education of all staff in correct procedures per reimbursement guidelines Develops new services and activities for patients, families and staff in accordance with practice service objectives. Staff Development Implement staff retention and training programs w/ support from clinic leads Coordinates, implements, and assists with staff training, in-services, and internal developmental programs for nursing staff. Assists with annual performance evaluations for nursing department staff. Serves as mentor/preceptor and provides day to day guidance to less experienced nurses Other duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities): Education/Training – Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN or MSN preferred RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current CPR certification required. Business Experience – Minimum five years actively practicing as a registered nurse, including at least three years oncology experience. In order to promote and maintain a healthy work environment, Adventist HealthCare will not hire applicants for employment who either state that they are nicotine users or who test positive for nicotine and drug use. While some jurisdictions, including Maryland, permit the use of marijuana for medical purposes, marijuana continues to be classified as an illegal drug under the federal Controlled Substances Act. As a result, medical marijuana use will not be accepted as a valid explanation for a positive drug test result. Adventist HealthCare will withdraw offers of employment to applicants who test positive for Cotinine (nicotine) and marijuana. Those testing positive are given the opportunity to re-apply in 90 days, if they can truthfully attest that they have not used any nicotine products in the past ninety (90) days and successfully pass follow-up testing. ("Nicotine products" include, but are not limited to: cigarettes, cigars, pipes, chewing tobacco, e-cigarettes, vaping products, hookah, and nicotine replacement products (e.g., nicotine gum, nicotine patches, nicotine lozenges, etc.).
